Just a Chill Guy

Just a Chill Guy Welcome back to my snapshot stories :)  It's been quite a while since my last post. Hope all is good since then and take this time to unwind with another short story.  Today's story is about a stunning macro shot of this dragonfly.  This shot was taken in India this year around April. Coincidently, it was the last picture taken on the last day of the trip. When I was packing for this trip the day before departure, I knew I had to bring my camera along as I could not pass up the possible opportunity of being able to capture the unique wildlife of India. My first morning in India, I woke up to an assortment of chirping made by various types of birds.  At one point, I even heard a bird making similar sounds to R2-D2.  It was such a beautiful sound & place to wake up to. However, the trip was constantly filled with personal errands and gave me little to no time to snap some photos. But on the last day of my trip, after packing to return to Singa...

Manifestation of the Most Holy Trinity

Manifestation of the Most Holy Trinity  Welcome back to Aaron's Snapshot Stories :) Hope you are doing well. But if you're not, I totally get it. Some days are just like that. And sometimes, trying to change that is just more overwhelming.  I hope these words bring you a sense of tranquility to your day. Today's blog takes a different turn rather than the usual wildlife pic "behind the scenes" anecdotes. It's a bit more spiritual. May not be everyone's cup of tea, but I hope you'll stick around and give it a read. The picture above, Manifestation of the Most Holy Trinity , was taken from the adoration room of my parish church.  For my readers with a different belief background, it is a dedicated room  within the church  for private prayer and contemplation in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament (a consecrated wafer held within the golden circle of the Jesus figure in the pic). The Most Holy Trinity consists of, God the Fath...

The Veiled Chameleon

The Veiled Chameleon  If you are reading this, welcome back to my blog :)  One of the many things about wildlife that had always amazed me was the eye-strikingly beautiful harmony of colors and textures encompassed in one body.  And I got to capture this beauty in the Singapore Zoo more than once. But in today's blog, I direct my focus on The  Veiled Chameleon. When walking through RepTopia in the Zoo, I initially was focusing on getting a beautiful shot of a King Cobra or even a Rattlesnake, simply because they were the cooler options in my opinion.  However, while strolling through RepTopia, the main thing I noticed was that most of the snakes were just chilling in a corner of the enclosure with close to no movement.  It was a peculiar situation to take an eye-catching snapshot, with the glass of the enclosure in the way and the glaring ceiling light reflecting off it.  Funny thing about the walk along the snake portion of RepTopia is that the...

The Eye of the Tiger

Today, 4 July 2025 - 8.26am,  I, Aaron, am embarking  on my blogging journey to share my wildlife/nature photography experiences. More specifically, to share the story behind each frame. What better way to kick off this journey than to start with my most beloved picture?   The Eye of the Tiger      I always enjoyed going to the Singapore Zoo. To have this tremendous joy, being able to see and be around wild animals (even though they are in an enclosure). However, frequently going to the Singapore Zoo was not the most cost-efficient activity when I was a kid or an early teenager. When my creative journey as an aspiring wildlife/nature photographer began in 2023, the Singapore Zoo was definitely one of the places I wanted to go to grow my skills. A controlled space where the animal can be seen, but not have any influence over its actions, behaviors, and natural light. And lucky enough, after a year, I had my hands on 2 complimentary S...
